AmazonSmile and #GivingTuesday

It's the time of the year to think about the holiday season or end of year contributions. Some of you will be out on Black Friday (November 24th) shopping the sales. Others will participate in Cyber Monday (November 27th) shopping online. Hopefully, all of you will participate in #GivingTuesday (November 28th) supporting an organization of your choice by making a contribution. You can support TODOS in two ways during this period: shopping through AmazonSmile on Cyber Monday and contribute to TODOS on #GivingTuesday.

AmazonSmile

Do you plan to purchase items from Amazon during Cyber Monday? You can purchase the same item at the same price from AmazonSmile and support TODOS at the same time. When you shop on AmazonSmile, you'll find the exact same low prices, vast selection, and convenient shopping experience as amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to your favorite charitable organization. You can choose TODOS: Mathematics for ALL! Check out the procedure and support TODOS! AmazonSmile is available 365 days a year, so use AmazonSmile when you plan to make a purchase through Amazon.

#GivingTuesday

TODOS is excited to be part of #GivingTuesday for 2017! Contributions will support TODOS in fulfilling its mission of advocating for equity and excellence for high quality mathematics education for all students—in particular, Latina/o students. Contributions can be designated to support the following:

  • Operations Budget: This includes items needed for the operation of TODOS. This includes items such as our website, having booths at NCTM Conferences, etc.
  • Advocacy: Advocating for underserved and Latina/o students by informing the public and influencing educational policies in ways that enable each and every student to be mathematically proficient.
  • Professional Development for Social Justice: Supporting teachers to take a social justice stance in their classroom that includes fair and equitable teaching practices, high expectations for all students, access to rich, rigorous, and relevant mathematics, and strong family/community relationships.
  • Cathy Kinzer Memorial Professional Development Award: Supporting an individual to attend a national mathematics education conference or professional development opportunity that focuses on equity and excellence.
  • Student Awards: Recognizing local area students at selected conferences who have demonstrated excellence in mathematics achievement by sustained success, significant progress, leadership in or out of the classroom, a student success story, and/or going above and beyond.
  • Carol A. Edwards Speaker Fund: TODOS provides some support for members who are presenting in a 'TODOS Strand' at a conference, and Board members speaking at a conference whose presentation reflects the Mission and Goals of TODOS.
  • Other: You can designate the funds to support a specific  TODOS’ activitivity.
