TODOS Strand Speakers at NCTM

TODOS will participate in the Equity Strand at the 2019 NCTM Annual Meeting & Exposition in San Diego this April. Many proposals were submitted and six were selected. See the TODOS Strand Sessions for detailed information. Add these sessions to your conference planner and support your colleagues. Featured sessions with TODOS speakers will be included in the March Enews.

Are you Speaking in San Diego in April?

In addition to the TODOS Strand, many of you are speaking in San Diego. Go to TODOS Sessions and enter the information for your session (time, conference, title, name, and location). If you are attending one of the conferences, view the offerings in TODOS Sessions by TODOS members and attend one of them. Also, volunteer to staff the TODOS Booth.

Attending San Diego? Work the TODOS Booth!

TODOS will have an exhibit booth at both NCSM and NCTM this April, plus a table at the TODOS Salsa Party on Thursday. You are encouraged to volunteer to staff the booth for two or more hours. Inform your colleagues and friends about TODOS and encourage them to join. You are TODOS’ best ambassadors when you communicate why you joined TODOS. Sign up today!

Are you engaged in the lesson study process? Did you know that you can focus on both equity and excellence in lesson study? Susie W. Hakansson will give a Quick Talks on Equity (QTE) titled “Incorporating Equity into the Lesson Study Process” to be held on Monday, March 18th at 4:00 PM. 2019 National Math Festival

The National Math Festival is coming on Saturday, May 4th in Washington, DC, so start planning your visit. Check out the many performances, films, presentations, hands-on puzzles, games, art-making, mathletic competitions, and more. Download free materials to promote the National Math Festival in your school, community, and on social media in the 2019 Festival Events.

Support TODOS Campaign for 2019

The TODOS campaign for 2019 encourages everyone to support classroom teachers' attendance at the TODOS 2020 conference by contributing any amount towards the $1,000 scholarships for classroom teachers to attend. Contributions to other programs are also an option. Go to donations and make a contribution! Support TODOS!

Want to Share a Room for NCSM/NCTM in April?

Are you looking for a roommate to share a room in San Diego during NCSM, NCTM Research Conference, and or NCTM the first week of April? If so, send a message to the roommate broker and indicate your name, the day of arrival, and day of departure and any other requirements. This will be a great opportunity to meet other TODOS members and save on the cost of housing. This service is limited to current TODOS members.

Large-Scale and Classroom-Level Assessment

The final webinar in the series on the recent consensus study report English Learners in STEM Subjects: Transforming Classrooms, Schools, and Lives, will focus on the assessment of English learners and STEM subjects will be held February 22nd. Join Alison Bailey and Guillermo Solano-Flores for an in depth review on how the different factors shaping large scale and classroom-level assessments. Register now!

PAEMST 2019 Nomination Drive

The 2019 Nomination Drive for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) has begun. Do you know a 7-12th mathematics teacher whose impact goes beyond the classroom? Many TODOS members fit in that category. Last year, a TODOS member was selected for a PAEMST award, and she wore her TODOS pin to the ceremony! Nominate a teacher today.
