Title: The Role of Curriculum Design in Promoting Equity in Mathematics

Outside of the contact with their teacher, a large portion of students’ experiences with mathematics are defined and shaped by curricular materials. How does the design of those materials influence students’ views of mathematics and of themselves? We will have a conversation with two Dana Center course design specialists, Josh Recio and Frank Savina, on how they bring an equity lens to curriculum design for both high school and college course materials.
