The TODOS 2019 GivingTuesday campaign has focused on requesting scholarship support for classroom teachers to attend TODOS 2020, offering as many $1,000 scholarships as possible. The classroom teacher is often the students’ primary advocate for equity and excellence and is a positive influence for students. You can also designate your donations for other priorities. Need Financial Support for TODOS 2020 Conference?

Are you looking for financial support to attend the TODOS 2020 Conference? TODOS is offering two different awards for PK-12 educators to support attendance to TODOS 2020. Check out the criteria and submit your application by March 1, 2020. (1) 2020 Cathy Kinzer Memorial Professional Development Award (must be a TODOS member as of September 1, 2019). (2) TODOS 2020 Teacher Award (must be a TODOS member as of January 1, 2020).

TODOS Strand at NCTM in St. Louis

TODOS has been invited to contribute to the 2020 NCTM Annual Meeting and Exposition in St. Louis, MO, October 21-24, 2020 by accepting up to four 60-minute-sessions and two 75-minute gallery workshops. Consider submitting a proposal for the TODOS Strand. Go to the guidelines and submit your proposal soon. You can make a difference! Deadline to submit as part of the TODOS Strand is December 16th.

TODOS 2020 Conference Registration is Open!

The 4th biennial TODOS conference promises to be inspiring, informative, and just plain fun! Early bird registration is $375 for the Conference and $100 for the Preconference if you are attending both. If you plan to attend the Preconference only, the cost is $150. Encourage your friends and colleagues to attend with you. Register now!

Spread the Word about the TODOS 2020 Conference

TODOS members are actively involved in mathematics education and attend/speak at many conferences, seminars, and meetings. Branching Out: Designing HS Math Pathways for Equity

This report synthesize the latest thinking about how to design high school math pathways for equity, and discuss next steps for K-12 and post-secondary institutions, as well as research. Current course sequences create barriers to opportunity for large numbers of students and include difficult but obsolete topics that are not relevant to many students’ aspirations. Paid PD for Grade 7-9 California Math Teachers

WestEd seeks 7th to 9th grade math teachers in Southern/Central California for a paid online algebra-focused PD study in February and March 2020, funded by the NSF. All study activities are completed online, and teachers work at their own pace. No travel or classroom/student-based activities required. Participants can earn up to $900 for the eight-week study. AMTE Elections

AMTE is holding elections for the offices of President-Elect, Secretary, and Board Member-at-Large. TODOS members on the ballot include: Megan Burton, candidate for President and Nicole Bannister, candidate for Secretary.
