Call for Proposals for TODOS 2023
The TODOS 2023 Fifth International Conference will take place on June 21-23, 2023 in Albuquerque, NM. The Conference theme is Actions in Mathematics Education (AiME): Catalyzing, Cultivating, and Expanding Critical Transformations. The TODOS 2023 Program Committee invites you to submit a proposal to share your actions and work at the conference. Call for Nominations
Nominations are open for President-Elect and two Directors. The President-Elect is a four-year commitment: one year as President-Elect, two years as President, and one year as Past President. Directors serve a three-year term. Nominees must be TODOS members in good standing for at least one year prior to September 1, 2022, and the nominee for President-Elect must have served on the TODOS Board for one year. TODOS Live! October 6
The October 6 TODOS Live! session at 4:00 PM Pacific is titled “How do I work with my newcomer students?”: Labels and Their Implications for Teaching. Speakers Gladys Krause and Melissa Adams-Corral will discuss what they learned about their instruction of mathematics, the curriculum in place, and the labels used to place students. They interrogate the labels newcomers and English Learners and the terms’ power to shape teacher perceptions and expectations, as well as students’ experiences. Sign up now!

Math Circles of Chicago: Free High Quality Math Enrichment at Scale is the title of the TODOS Live! session that will be presented by Sara Rezvi. This webinar will provide an overview of Math Circles of Chicago that has created opportunities for all children across Chicago to develop a passion for mathematics. The session will focus on their development of versatile activity plans, how they support their diverse teacher community, and will be held on October 13 at 4:00 PM Pacific. Remember to register!

Fostering Support for Multilingual Classrooms
Apply for the 6th annual TODOS/NCTM professional development grant! Fostering Support for Multilingual Classrooms provides financial assistance to PreK-12 schools for in-service to increase understanding and expertise in fostering support of multi-language development when teaching mathematics. Grant maximum is $4000. Applicants must be a TODOS and NCTM member by the date of application. Deadline for submission is November 1, 2022.

Staff the TODOS Booth at NCSM/NCTM
Sign up to staff the TODOS Booth any time during NCSM in Anaheim (9/26-28/22) and NCTM in Los Angeles (9/28 - 10/1). There are many time slots available at both conferences. At NCTM, in addition to being in the Exhibit Hall, TODOS will have a table at the NCTM Game Night and one at the TODOS Salsa Party to check memberships and recruit members. Your support and dedicated efforts are welcomed and appreciated. You can encourage your friends and colleagues to join TODOS!

NCTM Game Night, September 28 in LA
TODOS, along with Benjamin Banneker Association and Women in Mathematics Education, are planning the NCTM Game Night with NCTM. This event will be held on Wednesday, September 28, from 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm in Platinum AB of the JW Marriott LA Live Hotel. This event is open to everyone, and attendees are asked to bring games to share. Prizes will be awarded.

TODOS Salsa Party During NCTM 2022
The TODOS Salsa Party for members will be held on Thursday, September 29, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm in Platinum AB of the JW Marriott LA Live Hotel. Sponsors this year include hand2mind and Texas Instruments. It’s been over three years since the last Salsa Party. Remember to bring your dancing shoes to reconnect with TODOS members and dance the night away! It’s the best party around.

Submit a Proposal for TODOS Strand at NCTM 2023
Are you interested in speaking as part of the TODOS Strand next year during the NCTM 2023 Meeting and Exposition, October 25-28, 2023 in Washington, DC? Go to the guidelines for submitting a proposal. Proposals as part of this strand should be consistent with the mission of TODOS and address at least one of the TODOS goals. Deadline for submission is October 3.

Calculating the Odds: Counselor Views
