A Message from the President…

Dear Colleagues,

I begin this writing with gratitude, once again, to each who have contributed to TODOS over the 20 years. Through all of this our organization has been gifted with leaders who’ve lead with courage and passion around the Mission and Goals of TODOS.

Over the past two years I’ve been honoured to serve alongside the current Board. Each of these individuals have contributed in dynamic and unique ways and collectively we’ve initiated and began to explore ideas and structures in order for TODOS to expand it’s systemic influence.

TODOS Live! Cultivating Mathematical Hearts in Elementary (April 24 at 4pm PT)

Mathematics that is joyful, creative, rigorous, and meaningful can happen in classrooms when we teach in ways that embrace each child’s brilliance and humanity. In this session, we share strategies for culturally responsive mathematics teaching that will cultivate mathematical interest – from the heart. We invite all educators across the TK-12 experience to join us to explore the ideas in this session. Register here.

TODOS 2024 Virtual Leadership Institute

Join this virtual event to Explore Avenues of Action for Antiracist Mathematics Education! Held on Tuesday, June 4, and Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Participants will develop skills as justice-oriented leaders through TODOS’s newest publication. Registration will be capped at 50. The total cost of attendance is $80, including the $10 purchase of the digital version of “Antiracist Mathematics Education: Stories of Acknowledgment, Action, and Accountability.”

CANMEE Lesson Study Institute

Happening on June 24-28 in Long Beach, CA. The CANMEE Lesson Study Institute will be held at CSU Chancellor’s Office in Long Beach, CA. Experience the power of the CANMEE High-Quality Lesson Study with your team. This model maintains a dual-focus on learning math content and equity. Participate in student-centered, teacher-directed professional learning. Leave the Institute prepared to engage in lesson study when the school year begins. Cost is $1,000. Deadline to register is May 31.

2024 NCTM Annual Meeting and Exposition

Happening on September 25-28 in Chicago, IL. The 2024 NCTM Annual Meeting and Exposition will be held with the theme The Math of Their Dreams: Illuminating Students’ Brilliance. Attending the conference will lay a strong foundation for the upcoming school year and beyond, and focus on building and learning together. TODOS will have a strand at the conference, an exhibit booth, and a Salsa Party!
